Prime’s HD Textures

Prime's HD Textures

Prime’s HD Textures increases the resolution of Minecraft while still keeping to the original feel of the game. This pack can go up all the way to 512×512 which is insane, the higher resolution packs add a cartoon feel to the game. The pack we tested was the 32×32 and that still looked incredible.

Faithful 32x

faithful 32x

Faithful 32x adds a little more detail and softness to the game but still keeps it original which is perfect for some users. It is an improvement of the shapes and textures in the game, so you may want something which has a bigger change. It’s perfect if you like to keep the authentic Minecraft feel.

Dokucraft

Dokucraft

Dokucraft adds a medieval vibe to Minecraft. This is perfect for castles and middle age villages. It’s quite different to the original game though and creates a brand new feel.

John Smith Legacy

John smith legacy

John Smith Legacy also has an old-fashioned style to it. It completely changes Minecraft and has an awesome look to it. Once again, it suits worlds which have castles, middle aged villages and more old/vintage buildings.

Lithos 32x

Lithos 32x

Lithos keeps the Minecraft vanilla style but adds more detail to the game. It’s perfect for users who want a little bit more detail but still want to keep the original Minecraft style to it. Every block is fairly recognizable which is a useful thing as well. However, the mobs have been changed up a little and look really cool!

Barebones

Barebones

Barebones keeps Minecraft very simple. There are so many add-ons for Minecraft, like shaders and other features to enhance the game. But lower end PCs can’t take advantage of this. So Barebones keeps thing very simple and cheerful. It has a cartoon aesthetic to it as well which makes it look quite inviting, especially with the bright colors.

Sapixcraft

Sapixcraft

Sapixcraft adds a cartoon feel to Minecraft using bright colors and more solid blocks, like grass and saplings. It still keeps things quite vanilla so you will know what blocks do what but still adds a nice aesthetic to the game and is worth trying out.

XRay Pack

XRay pack

XRay pack can be a really useful pack when looking for ores and other certain blocks. However, it can take the fun out of the original game. For example, strip mining and going caving. It can also be classed as cheating on some servers as well, so make sure you have checked the rules on the server before using this pack.

Faithful 4×4

faithful 4x4

Faithful 4×4 pack completely changes the look and feel of Minecraft. It makes the game feel completely different. The blocks in the screenshot make them look like heads placed on the ground in 32×32. The textures are exactly the same as the other Faithful packs which remain ‘faithful’ to Minecraft but the sizes are where things are very different. It’s a texture pack like no other and it’s definitely worth checking out.

Misa’s Realistic Texture Pack

Misa's Realistic Texture Pack

Misa’s Realistic Texture Pack will completely change the look of Minecraft when used with shaders. It looks absolutely incredible and is definitely worth trying out, it really pushes Minecraft to get the best looks out of the game. This pack does need a beefier computer ideally because of the extra details added to the game.
