What is Roblox FPS Unlocker?
Roblox FPS Unlocker is a software and was released on Github which disables the frame limiter and v sync.
How does Roblox FPS Unlocker make a difference?
By disabling the frame limiter, this means Roblox can run above 60 FPS, it is normally capped at this level. V sync does have benefits, but it can also worsen lag as well by making frames wait for when the monitor is ready.
1. Download Roblox FPS Unlocker
Go to github.com/axstin/rbxfpsunlocker/releases which is the official download page.
The latest of version of the program will be at the top of the page. There should be an assets tab where you will find ‘rbxfpsunlocker-x64.zip’ or something similar, but it will most likely be a .zip file. Now click on the zip file on the web page and the download should begin.
This does seem to vary a little, on a previous version of the FPS Unlocker we noticed there was ‘Download here’ button. Either way, one of them should be there to start the download.
2. Install Roblox FPS Unlocker
Next we need to install the program. Locate the ZIP file, it should be in your downloads folder. Now double click on the file and it should open up. Inside the file, there will be installer ending in .exe which you need to double click on.
Note: Your antivirus software may detect Roblox FPS Unlocker as a virus because it edits Roblox files slightly. As long as you downloaded it from the official source then it is safe.
Next double click on the rbxfpsunlocker.exe and it should open a terminal and it will say ‘checking for updates’ and then it will disappear and be minimized to your system tray.
3. Configuring Roblox FPS Unlocker
To configure FPS Unlocker, simply go to the bottom right of windows and there is an arrow pointing upwards labelled ‘Show hidden icons’. Click on that and then a selection of programs will appear depending on what programs you have installed. Look for the logo with the roblox logo and a padlock in it.
Then right click on the FPS Unlocker logo and a list of options will appear. Here are a few key settings to check:
- Ensure Roblox Player is ticked
- Consider enabling ‘Check for updates’ so you’re kept up to date with the latest version.
- You can change the FPS cap as well, this is up to you. You can leave it on none if you would like.

No. Adam Miller (Vice President of Engineering at Roblox) guarenteed the usage of the FPS Unlocker would not be punished in August 2019.
