3. Use the ban command

Now, you need to type in “ban”, followed by the username of the user you want banned from the server.

It’s important you enter the username correctly, without any typos, because otherwise the user you intend to ban, may not get banned.

So, it should say “ban Username”

Then, once you’re ready, press enter and the command will be executed.

You should get a response saying “Banned Username: Banned by an operator”.

If you get a response saying “That player does not exist”, this means that you have spelt the persons username incorrectly, because the message means no one on the whole of Minecraft has that username.

Now, we will show you how to ban a user in-game on your Minehut server.

1. Join your Minehut server

The first thing you need to do is to join your Minehut server.

Secondly, you need to check if you are a server operator (OP). Even though you own the server, this does not mean you are automatically one.

In order to check if you are OP, you can use any command, like “/time set noon”.

If you are a server operator, then the time of the server will change. If you are not, then you will get a response saying this command does not exist, or you don’t have permission to use this command.

You can read our guide on giving OP to yourself on Minehut here.

Only move on to the next step once you are a server operator.

2. Use the ban command

Now, once you have joined the server and you are OP, you can use the ban command.

So, press “T” on your keyboard to open up the chat on Minecraft, and type in “/ban” followed by the persons username who you want to ban.

It should look something like “/ban username”.

Then, you will get a response saying this user has been banned.

However, if you get a response saying “That user does not exist”, or the person you tried to ban can still join the server, this means you have made a typo and have banned the wrong person.

But, you can enter the command again and enter the correct username to ban the user.

1. Join your Minehut server

If you are not sure if you are a server operator, then try executing a command. For example, type in on the Minecraft chat “/gamemode creative”. If your gamemode is already creative, then replace it with survival.

If you are a server operator, this should change your game mode, if you are not a server operator, you will get a response saying this command does not exist, or something similar.

So, if you are not a server operator, then you should read our guide on how to OP yourself on Minehut.

Move on to the next step once you have joined your server, and you are a server operator.

2. Use the unban command
