Lets get right in to this!
How to ban someone on Minehut
Now, we will explain how you can ban someone on the Minehut website, and in-game.
We’ll start by showing you how to do this on the Minehut website.
1. Log-in to Minehut
First of all, you need to log-in to your Minehut account, and select the server from your Server List which you want to ban the user from.
You need to click on “Activate Server” to start the server.
2. Go to the Server Console
Next, you need to go to the top navigation bar on Minehut and click on “Console”.
The Console is where you can use commands on your server and make changes.
Once you are on the Live Console page, you need to scroll to the bottom of the Console where you can see the option to “Enter Command”.
3. Use the ban command
Now, you need to type in “ban”, followed by the username of the user you want banned from the server.
It’s important you enter the username correctly, without any typos, because otherwise the user you intend to ban, may not get banned.
So, it should say “ban Username”
Then, once you’re ready, press enter and the command will be executed.
You should get a response saying “Banned Username: Banned by an operator”.
If you get a response saying “That player does not exist”, this means that you have spelt the persons username incorrectly, because the message means no one on the whole of Minecraft has that username.
Now, we will show you how to ban a user in-game on your Minehut server.
1. Join your Minehut server
The first thing you need to do is to join your Minehut server.
Secondly, you need to check if you are a server operator (OP). Even though you own the server, this does not mean you are automatically one.
In order to check if you are OP, you can use any command, like “/time set noon”.
If you are a server operator, then the time of the server will change. If you are not, then you will get a response saying this command does not exist, or you don’t have permission to use this command.
You can read our guide on giving OP to yourself on Minehut here.
Only move on to the next step once you are a server operator.
2. Use the ban command
Now, once you have joined the server and you are OP, you can use the ban command.
So, press “T” on your keyboard to open up the chat on Minecraft, and type in “/ban” followed by the persons username who you want to ban.
It should look something like “/ban username”.
You will need to press Enter on your keyboard to execute the command.
Then, you will get a response saying this user has been banned.
However, if you get a response saying “That user does not exist”, or the person you tried to ban can still join the server, this means you have made a typo and have banned the wrong person.
But, you can enter the command again and enter the correct username to ban the user.
How to unban someone on Minehut
Now, we will show you how to unban a user from your Minehut server using the Minehut website.
1. Go to the Minehut website
First of all, you need to go to the Minehut website and log-in to your account.
Secondly, you need to go to your Server List and find the server you want to unban the user from.
You will need to activate the server you want to unban the person from, so make sure you click on “Activate Server” in the green box.
Now, wait for the server to start and you will be taken to the server settings once it has started.
2. Navigate to the Console
Next, you need to navigate to the Console.
Go to the navigation bar at the top of the page, and click on “Console”.
This will take you to the Live Console. The Live Console is where you can enter and execute commands on your server, including un-banning users!
You need to scroll down the page until you can see the text box labeled “Enter Command”.
3. Execute the unban command
Now, you need to execute the unban command.
So, make sure you click on the text box where you can enter commands, and type in “pardon”, followed by the username of the person you want to unban.
It should look something like “pardon Username”.
Then, once you are ready, press Enter on your keyboard and this will execute the command.
You should get a response similar to this saying “Unbanned Username”.
This means you have successfully unbanned the user from your server, and they can join it again.
Now, here are the steps to follow if you want to unban a user from in-game on your server.
1. Join your Minehut server
Firstly, you need to join your Minehut server.
But, before you can execute any commands on your server, you need to make sure you are OP, which means you are a server operator.
If you are not sure if you are a server operator, then try executing a command. For example, type in on the Minecraft chat “/gamemode creative”. If your gamemode is already creative, then replace it with survival.
If you are a server operator, this should change your game mode, if you are not a server operator, you will get a response saying this command does not exist, or something similar.
So, if you are not a server operator, then you should read our guide on how to OP yourself on Minehut.
Move on to the next step once you have joined your server, and you are a server operator.
2. Use the unban command
Next, you need to open the chat on Minecraft by pressing the letter “T” on your keyboard.
Then, you need to type in “/pardon” followed by the person’s username who you want to unban.
So, it will be something like “/pardon Username”.
When you are ready to execute the command, press Enter on your keyboard.
You should then get a response saying the user has been unbanned. If it says something like “That player does not exist”, this means you have spelt their username incorrectly.
Or, if when the user tries to join and it still says they’re banned, this also means you spelt their username incorrectly and you unbanned another user.
Now you know the exact steps you need to follow to ban, and unban users on your Minehut server!
