If a user has broken the community guidelines multiple times, then TikTok may permanently ban their account and delete it from their platform.
So, here are the steps to report the user.
1. Find the user’s account
First of all, you need to find the user’s account.
The best way to do this, is to search for their profile.
Tap on the “Friends” button in the bottom navigation bar.
Then, at the top of Friends page there is a search bar, don’t worry, you can search the whole of TikTok, it’s not just your friends.
So, enter the user’s name and find their profile/account.
Of course, there are other ways to find users on TikTok, so use whichever way works best for you.
Move on to the next step once you are on the user’s profile.
2. Report the user’s account
Next, you need go to the top right of the user’s profile and you will a bell and next to it, there are three horizontal dots.
When you tap on the dots a menu will be launched.
At the top of the menu, you will see the options to share the user’s profile to other TikTok users, but, you need to navigate to the bottom.
There will be a few options to choose from. You need to look for the “Report” option which has a flag as its icon.
Once you see option, tap on it.
Now, the Report menu will open.
You need to choose if you want to report the account, or report the content.
In this case, you need to report the account.
Next, you need to select the reason for why you are making the report.
The reasons include:
- Posting inappropiate content
- Pretending to be someone
- Inappropiate profile information
- User could be under 13 years old
- Intelluctual property infringement
- Other
If none of the reasons fit why you are making the report, then select “Other”.
Once you have selected the reason, you need to tap on the “Submit” button.
This will send the report to TikTok and they will review it.
Then, TikTok will issue the necessary punishment.
If the user has violated the community guidelines multiple times, then TikTok may delete their account.
But, the situation will be different for each case and TikTok will have the final say.

There are two ways you can try to delete someone else’s TikTok video.
1. Report the video to TikTok
This first way will only work if the video violates TikTok’s community guidelines.
If it does, then you can report it to TikTok.
Firstly, find the video which you want deleted.
If you don’t already have the video or the link to it, then the best way to find it is to go to the creator’s profile who originally created and posted it.
In order to search for the user, you need to tap on the “Friends” button in the bottom navigation bar. Its icon looks like two people, with one of them standing in front of the other.
Tap on it and you will be taken to the Friends page.
At the top of the page is a search bar. Don’t worry, you can search the whole of TikTok, not just your friends.
Now, you can search for the user, or the video directly if you know the caption of it.
However, there are many ways you can find a user or video on TikTok, so use whichever you want. This is just an example of one way of finding users and videos.
Anyway, once you have found the video, tap on the “Share” button in the bottom right. Its icon is an arrow pointing right.
This will launch a menu called “Send to”.
Navigate to the bottom section of the menu and you will see the option to “Report” the video. Its icon is a flag.
So, tap on the Report button if you want to report it and get the video deleted if it violates the community guidelines.
You will need to select a reason for your report. There are many to choose from.
However, if none of the reasons fit why you are making the report, then tap on “Other”.
Once you have selected one reason, you may need to select a specific reason depending on which reason you chose.
Before the report is sent to TikTok, you need to tap on the “Submit” button.
Now, TikTok will review the video and investigate to see if it needs to be removed from the platform.
2. Ask the creator to delete the video
The second way you can get a video deleted from TikTok is to ask the creator to delete it.
You can either message the creator on TikTok if they follow you, or you can see if they have linked any other social medias to their profile.
Alternatively, you can leave a comment, but these commonly aren’t seen if there are many comments on the post.
Then, you need to explain why you want to the video removed and deleted. Usually, creators are understanding.
But, there is no guarantee the creator will delete it.
