change ebay profile picture

Do you want to change your eBay profile picture? If so, this is the guide for you.

According to Statista, eBay was founded in 2005 and is one of the oldest shopping destinations online.

Changing your eBay profile picture makes you stand out from the crowd. This is especially useful when selling items on the platform.

Before you change your eBay profile picture, you need to have it prepared. Profile pictures look best as squares, so you may need to crop it.

You can edit and resize images in programs such as Canva or PhotoPea.

This guide will cover how to do this on a desktop device.

However, you can use the desktop eBay site on your phone. You just need to request it within your browser.

Lets get right in to this!

1. Go to eBay and sign in

First of all, go to eBay.

The eBay you go to will vary because some countries have specific sites.

For example, eBay.co.uk and eBay.com.

Once you’re on eBay, then go and sign in.

You can find the “Sign in” button in the top left.

Now that you are signed in, you need to go to your account summary.

To do this, you need to go to the top right of eBay.

Then, click on “My eBay”.

This will allow you to edit how your profile will appear to other users on eBay.

Edit icons will appear.

They look like a pen or pencil. You can click on them to make changes to different aspects of your profile. The primary ways you can edit your profile is by adding a profile picture or by adding/editing a bio.

5. Click on the tool to the right of your picture

Now, you need to click on the edit tool in the top right of your profile picture.

This will open up your File Explorer.

You can then upload the image you would like to be as your profile picture.

eBay will accept a range of file types, including:

Tiff, PJP, Jfif, Bmp, Gif, Svg, Png, Xmb, Dib, Jxm, Jpeg, Svgz, Jpg, Webp, Ico, Tif, Pjpeg, and Avif.

Don’t worry about the file type too much. Usually, eBay will tell you if the image type is incorrect and you can edit if necessary. There are many image conversion sites online where you can upload the image and download it again in a different file type.

As we mentioned earlier in the post, it’s best for profile pictures to be square.

6. Locate your image in your File Explorer

Now you are in your File Explorer, you can locate the image to upload.

Once you find it, click on it once and then click on “Open” in the bottom right of your file explorer.

Simply click on “Edit profile”, then select the edit pen/tool.

It will then give you the option to change or remove the current image.
