1. Open up the TikTok app
First of all, open the TikTok app and log-in or switch to the account of which you want to hide the following list of.
2. Go to your TikTok profile
Secondly, you need to tap on the “Profile” button which has the icon of a singular person.
You will find this button in the bottom right of TikTok.
3. Go to your TikTok privacy settings
Next, you need to go to your TikTok privacy settings.
To get there, tap on the three bars in the top right of your TikTok profile.
These three bars will launch a menu.
From the menu, you need to tap on “Settings and privacy”.
This will take you to your TikTok settings. There are a lot of settings to choose you from.
You need to navigate to the section titled “Account”, which should be near the top of the page.
In this section, you need to look for “Privacy”.
Once you see “Privacy”, tap on it and you will be taken to your privacy settings which you can customize and configure.
Now, you will be on the privacy settings page, you need to scroll down to the “Safety” section.
4. Hide your following list
In the safety section, you need to look for “Following list” and tap on it to be taken to the settings.
On the following list page, you will see an option titled “Who can see your following list?” and there are two options to choose from:
- Everyone
- Only me
If you would like to hide your following list, you need to tap on “Only me” which will select it.
Now, when someone tries to look at your following list, they will get a message saying that the following list is private.
How To Hide Your Followers On TikTok
Here are the steps to hide your followers on TikTok.
Also, this set of steps will hide your following list as well, so it’s a two-in-one!
1. Open the TikTok app
Firstly, you need to open the TikTok app and make sure you are logged-in and have switched to the account you want to hide the followers of.
2. Navigate to your TikTok profile
Secondly, you need to navigate to your TikTok profile.
Go to the bottom navigation bar of TikTok and look for “Profile” with an icon of a singular person on the far right.
Then, tap on it.
3. Navigate to your privacy settings on TikTok
Thirdly, you need to navigate to your privacy settings.
You need to tap on the three bars in the top right of your profile.
The three bars will bring up a menu with a few options to choose from.
From the menu, you need to tap on “Settings and privacy”.
Now you will be on the settings page.
Navigate to the “Account” section, which is currently near the top of the settings.
In the “Account” section, look for “Privacy”. Once you see it, tap on it and you will be taken to the privacy settings page.
4. Make your TikTok account private
Next, you need to look for the “Discoverability” section. Currently, this the first section on the page.
In the Discoverability section, there will be an option to make your account private.
It will say “Private account” with a switch to the right of it to turn it on, if it isn’t already.
TikTok says: “With a private account, only users you approve can follow you and watch your videos. Your existing followers won’t be affected”.
Once you make your account private, users who don’t follow you will not be able to see your following list, who you follow or, your liked videos or, your videos.
5. Remove followers from your account
However, you may not want some of your existing followers to be able to view your followers.
If so, follow these steps to make someone unfollow you so they have to request to follow you again, and won’t be able to see your followers.
Navigate to your TikTok profile and tap on “X Followers” which is just below your profile picture and username.
Now, you will be shown all of the users who follow you.
Find the follower who you want to remove, and tap on the three dots next to the “Follow back” button.
Then, you can tap on “Remove this follower” and the user will no longer be following you.
You will need to confirm your decision by tapping on “Remove”.
This user will now no longer be able to see who you follow or, who follows you!
However, if you change your mind, they just need to request to follow you again and then they will be able to view your following list and followers.
