Firstly, we will show you how to unlink your bank account from PayPal on a desktop device, such as a laptop or your PC.
1. Navigate to the PayPal website
You will need to navigate to the PayPal website and log-in to your account.
2. Click on “Wallet” on PayPal
Once you have logged in to PayPal, you will be on your account overview.
Navigate to the PayPal header and you need to click on “Wallet”.

Then, you will be taken to your Wallet on PayPal, which is where you can view all of the credit/debit cards and bank accounts which are linked to your account.

3. Click on the bank account you want to remove
Next, you need to click on the bank account which you want to remove from your PayPal account.
When you click on a bank account, it will give you more in-depth information about it.
4. Click “Remove bank account”
Once you have clicked on the bank account and you can see the in-depth information about it, you need to navigate to the last option.
The last option will be “Remove bank account”. Now, you need to click on it.

Then, you will need to confirm your choice of wanting to remove the bank account.
Remember, if you change your mind, you can always add it again, so it’s possible to reverse the change.
So, click on “Remove this bank account” to confirm your choice.

Now, your bank account will be removed from PayPal!
How To Remove Bank Account From The PayPal App
Here are the steps to remove a bank account from the PayPal app.
1. Open the PayPal app
Firstly, you need to download and open the PayPal app. It’s available on the iOS App Store and the Google Playstore.
2. Tap on “Wallet” at the bottom right of PayPal
Secondly, tap on the wallet button in the bottom right of PayPal.

This will take you to the “Wallet” page and you will be able to see all of the cards you have connected to your account.

3. Tap on the bank account you want to remove from PayPal
Once you are on the wallet page in the PayPal app, you need to choose and tap the bank account you want to remove.
You may need to scroll down to view all of the bank accounts you have linked to your account.
When you click on a bank account, it will give you some extra information about it and the current status of it on PayPal.
4. Tap “Remove” to remove it from PayPal
Next, you need to go to the bottom of the bank account page, and click on “Remove” with the trash can icon.
If you are sure, tap on it.

Then, PayPal will ask for you to confirm your choice by clicking “Remove” again and they will also state:
Pending transactions will still be processed and automatic payments will be charged to another funding source after removing this bank account.

Once you confirm your decision, your bank account will be removed from PayPal.
If you change your mind, you can easily add it again as well.
Why Won’t PayPal Let Me Remove My Bank Account
You may find PayPal isn’t letting you remove your bank account.
Here are some reasons why and some fixes for them:
