You may have added a new card, or you may no longer want to use Spotify. Either way with this guide you can remove your card from Spotify, it can be a credit card or debit card.

This guide should be followed by using a desktop browser, ideally on a computer. However, you can use a phone browser and request a desktop version of the site.

1. Go To The Spotify Website & Log-in

Firstly, you need to go to Spotify’s website.

Now, you need to log-in to your account.

2. Go To Your Spotify Account Overview

Getting to your Spotify account overview will be different depending on what part of Spotify you are currently on.

If you are on the Spotify site, then go to the top right and click on “Profile”.

This will open a menu, and you need to click on “Account”.

You will be taken to your account overview.

However, if you are on the Spotify web player, you need to go to the top right and click on your Spotify username.

Then, click on “Account” and you will be taken to your account overview on the main Spotify site.

3. Scroll Down To “Your Plan”

Next, you need to scroll down the account overview page until you see the “Your Plan” section.

This section will look different depending on if you have Spotify Premium, or just the free plan.

4. Remove Your Card

If you have Spotify Premium, then go to the sub heading “Payment”.

Then, below your payment method will be an “Update” button. Click on it.

Now, you need to enter your new payment details before you can remove your card.

However, if you want to cancel Spotify Premium and remove your card details, keep reading.

Once you have added a new card or another payment method, Spotify will charge the new card when your account needs renewing.

They will automatically remove your old card details, it seems.

However, if you have a free plan on Spotify because you have unsubscribed from Spotify Premium, Spotify will not save your card details.

If you want to get premium again, then you will have to enter your card details again.

How To Cancel Spotify Premium

If you want to cancel Spotify Premium and remove your card, then follow these next steps.

1. Go To Your Spotify Account Overview

First of all, you will need to go to your Spotify account overview.

The steps to get to your account overview will be different depending on what part of Spotify you are on.

To start with, make sure you are on Spotify on your web browser, ideally on a desktop device. Or you can request the desktop version of the Spotify site on your mobile.

If you are on the normal Spotify site, then click on “Profile” in the top right and, from the list, click on “Account”.

However, if you are the Spotify web player, go to the top right where your Spotify username and click on it. From the list, click on “Account” and you will be taken to your account overview on the main Spotify account.

2. Scroll Down Until You See The Heading “Your plan” and Click On “Change plan”

Next, you you need to scroll down the account overview page until you see the section titled “Your plan”.

Then, at the bottom left of the section, there is a button titled “Change plan”.

Click on it and you will get a list of plans.

3. Choose “Spotify Free” From The Plans List

Now, you need to scroll down the list of plans and look for “Spotify Free”.

Then, below the Spotify free plan, there is a “Cancel Premium” button.

Click on it, and you can follow the steps to cancel your Premium.

Spotify will make you confirm your decision multiple times and try and persuade you to keep subscribing to their platform.

Here’s how your listening will change once your Spotify Premium subscription ends:

  • You’ll hear ads every 15 minutes.
  • You won’t be able to play song, on mobile.
  • You can only skip a song 6 times per hour.
  • 0 of your downloaded songs will be available.

However, you can subscribe again to Spotify Premium any time you would like, if you change your mind!
