How to see your comments on TikTok
We have written two different ways to see all of the comments, so you can try both and decide which you prefer!
Method one
Here are the steps for the first method.
1. Open TikTok
Firstly, you need to open TikTok and log-in or switch to the account you would like to see all of your comments on.
2. Go to your TikTok profile
Secondly, you need to tap on the Profile button on the right hand side of the bottom navigation bar.
This will take you to your profile, where you can view your posts/videos and also customize your profile by adding or changing your profile picture and other parts as well.
3. Navigate to your TikTok privacy settings
Next, you need to tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right of TikTok. This will bring up a menu.
From the menu, you need to select “Settings and privacy”.
Then, look in the “Account” section and tap on “Privacy” with the lock icon.
4. Download a copy of your TikTok data
Once you are in your Privacy settings, you need to look for the section titled “Personalization and data”.
Within this section, you will see an option for “Download your data”. Tap on this option.
Now, you need to request your data. The data may include:
- Your profile – Includes your username, profile photo, bio, and contact information.
- Your activity – Includes your video history, comment history, chat history, virtual items purchase history, like history, favorites history, and shopping activity.
- Your app settings – Includes your privacy settings, notification settings, and language settings.
Before you make the request, you need to choose the file format your data will be in.
We chose the TXT option because it’s the easiest of the options to read and navigate through.
When your ready, tap on “Request data”.
It’s important to note that your request may take a few days to process. After your file is ready, it will be available to download for up to 4 days. After that, it will expire and you will need to make a request for it again.
If you want to see all of the comments you have made before then, make sure you read the next set of steps.
You can check on the progress of your data request by tapping on the “Download data” option in the top bar of TikTok.
It will say pending until it’s ready.
5. View your comments you have made
Next, you need to tap on the “Download” button once it’s available.
This will open your device’s browser and you will need to log-in to your account.
Then, the download will begin. You may need to tap on “Download” depending on what type of device you are using.
Once you have downloaded the file, you need to find where your downloads are stored.
On iOS devices, you can find your downloads on Safari and also in the Files app as well.
However, on Android devices you can find your downloads in the Files app as well.
The file you downloaded will be called TikTok data with random letters and numbers in the name as well.
Once you have found the file, you need to open it up. It is a ZIP file, which means it has been compressed to reduce the file size. When you tap on it, it will either create a new folder or it will just open up.
On an iPhone, it will create a new folder, but on Android it may create a folder or just open the ZIP file.
Now, you need to tap on the folder if you haven’t already.
There are quite a few folders to choose from. You need to tap on the “Comments” folder. If you cannot see this folder, you can search for it or, you can check out the other folders to see it’s in them. It may be in “Activity”.
Then, there will be a text file called “Comments”. You need to tap on it and it will open.
All of the comments you have made will be listed with the date and time they were published.
However, you may want to view the videos you made the comments on. If so, check out the next set of steps.
Method two
Here is the second set of steps to view all the comments you have made on TikTok.
1. Go to your TikTok inbox
First of all, you need to open up the TikTok app and make sure you log-in or switch to your account you want to view the comments on.
Secondly, you need to tap on the “Inbox” button with the speech bubble as it’s icon.
Next, tap on “New from TikTok”.
This will show you all of your TikTok notifications.
2. See your comments which users have liked
Every time someone taps on the like button on your comment, you will get a notification. So, you can see the comments you have made and on which video as well.
However, this only works if other users have pressed the liked button on your comment. The first method may work better if the comments haven’t been liked.
