Fix your Amazon refund issue
The best chance of sorting this issue out is to get in contact with Amazon.

1. Go to Amazon
First of all, go to the Amazon.
Then, sign in if you need to.
2. Get your Amazon order number
In order for Amazon support to know which order you need assistance with, you need to get your order number.
So to find it, hover your mouse over “Accounts & Lists”.
This will bring up a menu of two lists.
You need to click on “Your Orders”.
Then, this will take you to all of your Amazon orders.
Look for the order for which you were refunded.
Once you have found it, go to the top right of the order square and look for “Order #”.
You need to copy and paste this.
3. Contact Amazon support
Now you need to contact Amazon support.
To do this, scroll to the bottom of the Amazon page.
There should be a list called “Let us help you”.
Near the bottom of the list, will be “Customer Service” and you should click on it.
Then, once you are on the customer service page, you need to find the contact option.
The contact option isn’t always obvious, as Amazon prefers for you to use their support articles.
At the moment, you need to click on “Something Else”.
You will then be taken to more options, and you need to click on “I need more help”.
This will bring up a chat. At first, you will be talking to a bot who will try and answer your query.
However, to speed up the process of talking to a human, enter “Please can I talk to a real person” or something along the lines of that.
Hopefully, a real person will be allocated to the chat or you can request a call back and they will help you solve the problem with your refund!
After we researched forums, we came to the conclusion that it seems Amazon will move the amount of gift voucher to your bank or original payment method if you contact them.
This is not guaranteed, but just what we have seen in the past.
Why does Amazon give a refund using a gift card instead of your credit card?
Businesses give a refund using a gift card instead of your original payment method because then you have to make another purchase with Amazon.
If a business didn’t give the option of refunding using a gift card, then a buyer may just take the refund and not return for any more purchases.
Therefore, if a business gives the buyer a gift card with the order amount credited, then the buyer has to return, otherwise they can’t spend the voucher.
