Method 1: How to get a post’s ID on the Instagram app
Here are the steps to find a post’s ID on the Instagram app.
1. Open the Instagram app
Firstly, you need to open the Instagram app and log in or switch to the account you would like to use.
2. Find the post
Next, you need to find the post that you want to get the ID from.
There are a few different ways you can find the post.
One way you can find the post is by searching for the account that posted it.
So, tap on the Discover button that looks like a magnifying glass in the bottom navigation bar.

Then, you can tap on the search bar at the top of the page to search for the account that posted it.

Another way you can find the post if you follow the user who posted it, is just by scrolling through your Instagram feed until you see it.
There are many other ways you can find the post as well, so find the post the way you find it easiest.
3. Copy the Instagram post link
Once you have found the post, you need to tap on the three dots in the top right of the post.

This will open up a menu.
You need to tap the Link button. The icon looks like a paper clip.

After you have tapped the button, you will get a message saying “Link copied to clipboard”.

4. Get the post ID
Now, you need to open up the Notes app on your phone and paste the link you just copied.
It will look something like this:

The post ID is actually in the URL. The ID begins just after “p/” and ends before “/?”.
So, all you need to do is select the ID and copy it to your clipboard.

Then, you can paste it so it won’t be lost when you copy something else.
You now have the post ID and you can do whatever you would like with it!
