Let’s get right in to this!

1. Open Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox

We recommend using either of these browsers because they have useful functionalities which browsers such as Safari, or Microsoft Edge don’t have.

We will use Chrome, but Firefox will also work.

2. Go to the eBay site you would like to use

This could be eBay.com or eBay.co.uk.

It’s best to go to the eBay site for where the delivery location is.

This will reduce any shipping and customs fees you may have to pay.

We will go to eBay.com as we want to get an item delivered to the United States, but we are based in the United Kingdom.

3. Go to your browsers extension store

Open a new tab and go to your browser’s extension store.

Chrome’s extension store is: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/

Firefox’s extension store is: https://addons.mozilla.org/

There are many useful extensions you can download from these web stores.

A lot of extensions are free, but do make sure the extensions you download are safe because extensions can read what is entered in to websites.

The extensions you will use will be free.

4. Download a trusted currency converter

Next, you need to download a currency converter.

We tested different ways of using eBay to show different currencies, but couldn’t find an efficient way.

So the best way we found was to use a currency converter within our browser.

The converter we use, will automatically convert all the currencies on the page to your desired currency. You will not have to enter each price in to a converter.

You need to Search for “Currency converter”.

Most webstores will have a rating and will tell you the amount of downloads or users an extension has had. Make sure to look for a high rating, and a high amount of downloads.

This is the best way to find a trusted and safe extension.

Once you have found one, there will be an “Add” button. Click on it and it will start downloading and then installing.

The currency converter we use on Google Chrome is Chrome Currency Converter

5. Set your desired currency in the converter

Next, you need to decide what currency you would like the prices to be converted to.

To do this in Chrome, click on the puzzle piece in the top right.

Is it safe to use currency exchange converters on your browser?

A lot of people worry that extensions can be dangerous and harmful.

It is true they can be. But here are some ways to mitigate the risk of using not just currency converters, but extensions on your browser in general.

  • Check out the reviews and ratings of the extension on the web store. If the extension has got a low rating, then there is usually a big red flag and you should avoid it.
  • Look at how many people have downloaded the extension before. This will help decide if the ratings and reviews are true as well. Usually, the more people that have downloaded the extension before, the more trust-worthy it should be.
  • Research the extension you’re installing. Quickly Google the name of the extension you want to download and see what people have to say about it.

The best way to check that the extension is legitimate is by the reviews and ratings, though.
